Saranghaeyo Korea Club

We know your interests and enthusiasm for Korea and we really want to keep your love and interests in Korea.

For that reason, we, Korea Tourism Organization, now start a project 'Saranghaeyo Korea Club' which is a group of volunteer ambassador for Korea.

If you join the club you will perform a Saranghaeyo Korea Club members' duty, such as;

*Organize fan clubs activities, university/international festivals
* Participating and volunteer works in events related to Korea
(R16 competition, Hallyu contest, Matta fair, etc.)

LG and KTO Presents the R16 Southeast Asia Finals 2010

Kuala Lumpur, 30 March 2010 – Malaysian B-boy fans can get cranking this May when top acts from around the region converge in Kuala Lumpur for the R16 Southeast Asia Finals and show their power moves in the dance phenomena that has captured the attention of millions across the globe.

A regional spin-off from one of the world’s top 5 B-boy competitions – the R16 World B-boy Championship – the R16 Southeast Asia Finals will be a showdown of the best 8 teams from Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore and Malaysia for the top spot which will give them the ticket to the global competition in South Korea later in the year.

Sponsored by LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, home appliances and mobile communications, the R16 Southeast Asia Finals is brought in by Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), which also created the R16 World B-boy Championship with the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and since its introduction in 2007 to support grassroots youth culture, the global competition has attracted participation of more than 300 artists, musicians and dancers.

The R16 Southeast Asia Finals will be held on May 15th at the KL Live Centre along Jalan Sultan Ismail in Kuala Lumpur and the exclusive tickets will be given away through special LG programmes which will be announced next month in-stores and on the official LG website www.lg.com/my.



Ahead of R16 Southeast Asia Finals, a special Malaysian audition will be held on April 24 at Berjaya Times Square where the top 2 winners will represent the country and compete in the regional finals. For more information and to register for the Malaysian auditions, visit www.r16seasia.com.

R16 World B-boy Championship is part of the ‘Korea Be Inspired’ Festival 2010 which aims to promote the Visit Korea Year 2010-2012, R16 urban youth culture and the Korean Wave (Hallyu). The festival is event managed by GF World Solutions (GFW) and media sponsors are 8tv and 98.8 while venue sponsors are KL Live Centre and Berjaya Time Square.

‘Korea Be Inspired’ Festival 2010

Korean Wave Contest

In conjunction with ‘Korea Be Inspired’ Festival 2010 and ‘Visit Korea Year 2010 – 2012’, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is organizing a Korean Wave Contest.

The competition is open to all Malaysians and K-pop fans in Malaysia. Participants are required to perform on either Korean song, dance and impersonality show. Participants would be judged on their singing/dancing ability, stage performance, costume and creativity. Participants are required to prepare their own minus one music. They can contact KTO for further assistance.

The competition offers many attractive prizes:-

Grand prize : 5 x Tour packages to South Korea + gift

1st Runner up : 2 x Tour packages to South Korea + gift

2nd Runner up :RM1,000 + gift



Along with this event, KTO will also be launching a special ‘Hallyu’ (Korean Wave) tour package to visit South Korea. The ‘Hallyu’ tour package is specially targeted to the ‘Hallyu’ fans in Malaysia.

An audition will be held at the Korea Plaza, Ground Floor, Menara Hap Seng on 17th April from 2pm to 5pm. Participants can sign up as an individual or a group performance.

Korean Wave Contest final will be held at KL Live Centre, Jalan Sultan Ismail, on 15th May from 2pm to 4pm.
